Join Us for a Stand-Up Comedy Night March 1st!
Join us for a stand-up comedy free-for-all at Oxenfrē Public House on Friday, March 1!
Headliner: Evan Vest
Featuring: Chloé Rosenthal & Brandy Lara
With additional short sets by more than a half-dozen up-and-coming comics from Curry and Del Norte Counties!
No cover charge! But maybe buy a drink (or three) and tip your bartenders and comics?
Based out of the Savage Henry Comedy Club in Eureka, CA, headliner Evan Vest grew up in Curry and Del Norte Counties, and over the course of his decade in comedy has toured with the pros up and down the West Coast. Chloé Rosenthal, also raised in Brookings, is an actor and regularly performs stand-up comedy in the LA area. Brandy Lara, originally from Los Angeles, has recently taken Humboldt's local comedy scene by storm and is a growing talent in the area. Lara and Vest will be going on tour in Oregon's major cities later this Spring.
Come on down to Oxenfrē at 8PM on March 1 and show your support! We'd love to build more events like this in the future and bolster the local comedy scene.
Happy International Women's Day! The Vagina Monologues is coming to Brookings on March 8
Let your feminine rage (and joy!) out starting March 8 at Brookings, Oregon's first-ever performance of Eve Ensler's internationally-renowned play, The Vagina Monologues!
The Vagina Monologues is a raw, funny, and cathartic look at the female experience--from those who identify as female, to anyone who has a vagina, and all the folks in between who love and support them! From suppressed New York grannys and precocious six-year-olds, to Bosnian genocide survivors, trans women, and Dominatrices, The Vagina Monologues is an unflinching collection of first-person stories that captures the many-faceted sides of what it means to possess a vagina and be a woman in a world that is not always friendly to those who live outside the 'norms' of modern female life.
Want to get in the groove before the show? Chosen personally by our cast and crew members, whose ages span three generations, we invite you to enjoy the official Threepenny Theater Vagina Monologues Playlist below.
The Vagina Monologues opens March 8 and will run for two weekends through March 17. Tickets are limited and already going fast! You can get more info about the show and book your seats now on our official Vagina Monologues Showpage. Any unsold tickets will be available at the door on the days of performance.
Thanks for your support, Pennies. See you at the show(s)!
